Year 6 Trip to London

Yesterday, Year 6 Penguins, visited The Royal Courts of Justice in London where they spent the afternoon in Court 63, one of the courts of appeal.

Here they took on the roles of judges, barristers, solicitors, jurors, clerks and ushers. They reenacted the first criminal conviction for cyber bullying in the UK! The jurors found the defendant guilty but were shocked to learn of the true punishment handed down by the judge - 6 months in prison!  This was an incredible experience, seeing real cases taking place around the building. Mrs Williams was very proud of the confidence in speaking in such a formal setting shown by her defence and prosecution teams but also by the excellent behaviour all children displayed whilst moving around the courts.

Well done Penguins!
