ADMISSIONS - RECEPTION YEAR

Parents seeking a place at the school for their child at the beginning of the Reception year are asked in the first instance to register their child by completing an application form, preferably at the approach of his/her third birthday.  Open days will be held at the beginning of the Autumn term.

Children in West Sussex start school at the beginning of the school year (September) in which they become 5.  For some, attendance will initially be on a part time basis.  Although children are entitled to start school on these dates, parents may decide to defer entry to school until the compulsory school starting date which is the term in which a child turns five.  A personalised application form and information for parents booklet is sent out in the previous September by Admissions.  On receipt of this, please call to find out when the school is arranging visits to meet the Head and view the school.

The following admission policy operates:-

Children born Sept - Feb start full time in September
Children born Mar - Aug start part time in September and full time from January

NB:  part time is

8.55 am - 1.10 pm

 

Prior to starting school the children are invited to meet their teacher and join in class activities.  Parents are given the opportunity to discuss matters of general interest with the Headteacher at this time.

The schools admissions limit is 30 pupils per year group and parents seeking a transfer to the school for a child living either inside or outside of the catchment area should contact the Pupil Admission team on 0845 075 1007 or email admissions@westsussex.gov.uk.
